To celebrate National Nest Box Week, Farrow & Ball, craftsmen in paint and paper, have provided over 50 decorated bird boxes for Manchester’s birds to nest in.

The bird boxes (painted in aptly-named Farrow & Ball eco friendly exterior paint colours, Pigeon® and Dove Tale) can be found in trees across the City Centre thanks to the work of The Booth Centre, a day centre helping the homeless and support from Manchester City Council. See how many bird boxes you can find by picking up a map at the Farrow & Ball showroom on Deansgate or find the maps in parks throughout the city, or download the PDF below.

National Nest Box Week is an annual event organised by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO). Running from 14 – 21 February 2012, National Nest Box Week encourages everyone to erect a bird box in order to promote and enhance biodiversity and conservation of Britain’s breeding birds and wildlife.

Why not pop a nest box up in your own yard or garden and see what happens? See the toddlers tips pages to find out how.
