Ready Steady Sow - The Wild Flowers are Coming! PDF Print E-mail

You may notice grassy areas along Princess Parkway and surrounding neighbourhoods turning yellow over the coming weeks - don't worry.

This is all part of the Competition Winning "Tale of 2 Cities" project between Manchester and Liverpool.

Preparation is needed to provide perfect conditions for millions of wild flower seeds soon to be sown to create exciting and colourful wild flower landscapes.

Some soil preparation will take place before seeds are sown in late March and April and then the clocks ticking.. By June /July, the gateway to the City will be awash with bees, butterflies and colour!

Good Things Happening at Boggart Hole Clough! PDF Print E-mail

Wednesday 18th March 2015

Fantastic new floating islands are being installed at Boggart Hole Clough in North Manchester to encourage wildlife and make more a feature of the lake.

Funded through the Clean City Fund, these dramatic installations are specially designed, and will improve the quality and function of the lake - and become a nice home for Moorhen and Coots too.
